Heartline Meatless Meats have the look, taste,
and texture of a wide range of meats -- but, like all Lumen
products, have no animal derivatives. Unlike our meatless
snack products,
Heartline was specifically designed to
replace animal meat products in the kitchen. (Heartline products are
still sold under our original brand name, "Lumen" in Canada.)

Absent from Heartline are the animal drugs
(i.e. sterols, antibiotics, hormones,
etc.), high concentrations of agricultural chemicals (i.e.
pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, etc.) and other animal waste
residues that make meat so unhealthful.

Unlike other "textured vegetable proteins," Heartline is virtually
free of the flatugenic sugars responsible for causing indigestion in
most users (i.e. "oligosaccharides"). Just boil (or microwave) in
water for 5-10 minutes. It's so easy, delicious, versatile -- but,
most of all, good for you! This is the original meatless product
used in the now famous
University of Toronto
cholesterol study, which appeared in the
New England Journal
of Medicine study (David J.A. Jenkins, M.D., Ph.D., et al.,
July, 1993).
