at almost any given time.
Below are the positions for which we are accepting applications
at the Lake Charles, Louisiana office. All involve employment
at any one of three different facilities, but all are in Lake Charles.

-- Current Job Openings --
BOOKKEEPER -- Day-shift (9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.). Full-charge
(including A/P, A/R, payroll & general ledger);
Peachtree experience a plus. Must deal with customers, vendors,
and subcontractors, so good phone manners are necessary.
COOK -- Mid-shift (11 p.m. to 6 p.m.). Experience in
food processing plant a plus, but solid background in restaurant
work and we will train. Hourly: depending on experience.
ORDER PROCESSOR -- Full time (9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.).
Good spelling, syntax, grammer, and diction a must.
Must also answer phones (backup to receptionist) and
take orders. Typing speed: 50+ wpm. Must be proficient
with Windows 98 and XP. Will train you to use contact
management and order fulfillment software.
$7 per hour to start.
PACKAGING CLERK -- Mid-shift (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.). No
experience necessary, but must be willing to go through our
rigorous training program. Starting hourly: $5.15.
PACKAGING MACHINE OPERATOR -- Day-shift (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
Vertical form-fill-and-seal operator. Experience with other
similar filling equipment a big plus. A bigger plus is any
experience with Mirapak Vertical F&F, or Kliklok Woodman
Profitmaker 5 and 7, or Pacemaker series machines.
If you have strong electromechanical skills, we can
readily train you. Starting hourly for apprentices: $5.50.
MICROBIOLOGIST (P/T with flexible working hours) ...
Candidate should have bachelor's in microbiology, chemistry, or biology.
One year or more in bench work preferred. Job responsibilities include
challenge tests, purity and related chemical analysis tests, and
disinfectant efficacy tests (i.e. AOAC hard surface carrier and/or
phenol tests). Resumes can be submitted via

RECEPTIONIST -- Day-shift (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
Must be professional and presentable. Good phone skills
and pleasant manners a must. Experience in mail order
operations, order desk, customer service, or field sales
operations are a plus. Your command of the English
language must be well above average.
Starting hourly, DOE.
SHIPPING CLERK -- Day-shift (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
Min. two years experience in shipping/receiving environment
for manufacturing operation. Experience with UPS software
(MaxiShip, etc.) a plus, as is experience with mail order
operations. Starting hourly: $7.00 ... DOE.
TYPIST -- (9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.)
Temporary full-time position involving the transcription
of several hundred pages of research text that will
be posted to one of our web sites (www.preservx.com)
A working knowledge of HTML is a plus, along with elemental
bitmap imaging manipulation (i.e. scanning, re-sizing, sharpening,
etc. with Photoshop or Micrographx Picture Publisher (Webtricity)).
Hourly rate: $6.50
or higher, depending on speed and professional experience.
WEB DESIGNER -- (9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.)
Candidate must have strong working knowledge
of all tags through HTML 4.0 and good working knowledge of Java
applications. Formal training in graphic arts and/or strong,
innate aesthetic design sense is crucial.
Mastery of animated banner ads a big plus.
Some knowledge of PERL 5.0 a plus. Salary DOE.
WRITER -- Candidate must work at the home office in
Lake Charles to provide sufficient oversight of the project.
Full time (40 hours - 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
Pre-med (2 yrs.) education and HTML proficiency are big pluses.
This job entails writing articles
on the relationship between cancer and diet;
internet sourcing and research; and assisting with
the composition of one
master paper (10,000 words) that ties all the common
elements of the works together in one cohesive monograph.
Strong and original composition skills required.
You must also be very self-disciplined, have all the qualities
of a 'self-starter,' and exhibit attention to details.
You will not be working alone -- but will be
coordinating with another web designer within the company.
This job is a permanent position.
Hourly pay: About $8.50 an hour to start, depending on
experience.
