The pictures below were taken November 26, 2006 and present
over $100,000 in recent capital investment in Lumen Foods,
split between an upgraded new packaging machine (which was not in
the original list of assets to be transferred with the sale), and
the construction of a new warehouse, which will carry a designated
address of 412 Scott Street (directly across the street from
the main office at 409 Scott).
These pictures were taken
before general cleanup or prepping for stocking the facility
with pallet racks and merchandise. (A followup set of pictures
will be taken next week.) This facility ran close to $30,000
in construction cost and has an interior, usable space of about
2,000 square feet. Distance to trusses: 14 feet.

The Mirapak vertical
"form, fill, and seal" machine represents an investment
of over $70,000, and contains the latest improvements
in bag making and weighing for a machine of its class
(i.e. there are other, faster machines
costing well over $200,000 each).
Rebuilt by a specialty equipment manufacturer in North Texas, this machine
will serve Lumen Foods for the next 20 years. (The current
Profitmaker was built in 1969 and purchased by Lumen Foods
in the late 1980's. It is still in service today.)
The new Mirapak was put on the production line on
Tuesday, November 21st (2006).
